The meeting already started
and too late
I find myself
far from the room’s exit.
The next break
isn’t for another hour,
and I can’t get up
without making a clatter.
I shouldn’t have ignored
the presage from before,
that I would have to go…

when you can say with a smile,
“How did I survive?”

Says work’s slow clock
Been here for how many hours? Nine.
It’s survival time.
One hour to go
The clock is STILL slow.
Hope I have food and patience to last
Till my time here has finally past.
