My ghosts are haunting,
damning and daunting;
presently placated
but persistently taunting.

My past sneaks
upon me like
a forbidden ghost

The spookiest thing
That I ever might feel
Is that it might just not be
My hands on the wheel.

I saw a shade out on the street
Of who I used to be.
I bade farewell and walked with haste;
He followed patiently.

Some dark thing
moves out of my peripherals
but as I turn to look
I find it leaves no sign or trail

My favorite ghost
is friendly,
unlike most.
He does my dishes
and sings me to sleep.
My ghost helps with homework;
his name is Filipe.
I hope the day soon arrives
when my ghost will come alive!

Once upon a time, a girl met a boy,
And was confused by the heartache
That came with love’s joy.
Once upon a time, a girl loved a boy,
Who gave her fake answers
Her emotions to annoy.
Once upon a time, a woman watched that boy,
And tried not to love him
But her heart was his toy.
Once upon a time, a boy was confused
By this woman that persisted
Every time he refused.
Once upon a time, this boy grew to be a man
And gave to the lady
His heart in his hand.
Once upon a time, a woman grew up faster
And formed a heartless lump
Into happily ever after.

Horror Story
there’s no one there
no ghostly hand, no skeleton bones
no mysterious creak in the hall
the doorhandle doesn’t rattle
the lights don’t flicker
no bats, no bird screech, no echoing scream
no anxious violins
but they sit still
staring inside at something
that can’t be seen
haunted
II.
i want to hide under a sheet
and cut out two little holes for eyes
paint a black ‘o’ mouth
and glide around – hands in the air
whispering ‘wooooo’
then
after coming home
I’ll take the sheet off
and have candy
