Stupid construction!
All I wanted to do,
Was make a simple turn!
A simple ninety degree angle!
But you have blocked,
That perfectly paved path,
So now I must continue,
Down this narrow lane,
Completely missing,
My one destination!

My biggest love as a child
was twirling in my silky slip.
I could turn all night long,
feeling the air on my face,
feeling more beautiful with each spin.
Sometimes, it seems
my whole life is turning.
Unplanned, constantly moving
with no clear direction.
But I’m still loving the twirl.

try to do some cool trick
without any experience,
like maybe a back flip,
a turn in the air, for instance,
and you might land on your face
with a mouthful of grass
and a bruise on your forehead.

My once pounding passion
has turned into a dull pulse
that I only notice
when I feel for it.
