“Just go for it!”
My friends whisper and tease
I take a deep breath
I’m weak in the knees.

A push from behind
And suddenly, you’re there.
I straighten my skirt,
Run my fingers through my hair.

I smile with hesitation
And out pops a “hi.”
I hope you can’t see
That I am quite shy.

I square my shaking shoulders
And ask you your name.
You grin, and I realize,
That we feel the same!

Such was the beginning
Of a friendship to stay.
And all thanks to a choice
To seize the day.

The sun already finished
pulling everyone through the day’s chores
and now they’re back under their covers.

Phil turns off the screen only to find
that after all the journeys of the day
he hasn’t moved at all from
where he was this morning.

yet in trying to move boulders
