If I could discover
the essence of
humankind
wisdom beyond
just two lovers
one heart one mind
reaching past the stars
a lonliness extinct
souls inextricably linked
Some people are afraid to die.
Some people are afraid to live.
Some people are afraid to give.
Some people are afraid to lose.
Some people are afraid to choose.
Some people are afraid to hurt.
Some people are afraid to try.
Some people are afraid to wish.
Some people are afraid to hope.
Some people are afraid of fear.
Some people are afraid to live.
Some people are afraid to die.
pages and pages
with pictures full of color,
of heroes
who woke up one day
to find they had super powers.
each portrayal
that depicts a glorious day won
reveals a hidden wish
if only it could be done.
I gaze into the midnight sky,
As I look for falling stars.
I wish upon each one,
And feel safe in my lover’s arms.
I wish for the future,
And the possibilities it holds.
I wish for my family,
That we will always stay close.
I finally wish for my love,
That we may grow old together.
Soon dawn breaks over the horizon,
And I meander off to bed.
I soon awake in the arms of my love,
Wishing it would never end.

wryness: How beautiful Unembellished Shines the sunlight On the water. Here a flash, There a sheen. Soft flashing. The waves, The waves. Living.
Andrew: Courage to look, I quickly turn away. The girl I love, Her heart I cannot sway.
Russell: It has taken some time, really hours of study and preparation, but luckily a big red “F” has never been mine
Tristan: I faintly feel my spinning wheels come creaking to a stop. To keep them going, momentum slowing, takes much more than I’ve got. A push, a prod, a smile and nod, I’ll take what...
D. Edgar Lamp: FAILURE Fortune gathers those who know, All the seasons take their turn, Instant while the moments glow. Logic binds the rapturous burn, Urgent weather aches to go, Rising fractal...
Meryl: If F stands for FAIL, Why does BYU use E? Does E stand for EPIC FAIL? Could that possibly be?
Volkam: Traveling up a long winding stair I grow and learn the stairs never end but I don’t care I want to feel the struggle and the burn at times the stairs are smooth or rough my efforts...
Tristan: They say that it ends. They say that it gets better. I don’t believe them.
SBgiselle: High School Day by day, It is the longest thing invented. Year by year, It flies by like it never even happened.
Meryl: I struggle to research; I avoid writing. But soon my paper will be longer than this poem.

Call me the Indian Giver.
There are so many words I’ve given away
that I wish I could take back.

Her father wanted her to be happy
To grow up, but not too fast.
Her mother wanted her laughter
And a smile that would last.
Her brothers wanted to tease
Cuz they’re guys, that’s what they do.
And her sisters wanted friendship
Someone they could talk to.
Her buddies wanted a listener
To hear their bundles of “sadness.”
Her admires wanted her number
For she filled their hearts with gladness.
She never knew her dearest wish
She thought to make others happy.
Her maturity was surpassing
She was never rude or sappy.
A man once glanced and saw her
Making other’s wishes come true.
And he longed to make her happy
And to hear her say “I do.”
This girl he loved finally realized
With a happy, glowing heart
That her only wish was to love him
So their life, together, could start.
