  1. SBgiselle says:

The rain drips coldly off his drenched hat
As he staggers hungrily through a darkened wood,
    Searching, searching.
A man of mystery, never quite knowing what to see
Or what to look for in his gloomy surroundings.
    Falling, falling.
The will to move on, to continue, is growing dim
And life seems pointless, darkness closes.
    Ending, ending.
With his head in his hands, he thinks that all is lost
Nothing matters, it’s over, he can’t handle it.
    Losing, losing.
Then salvation takes a hand, and the sun stops the rain
Memories flood back, happy ones, of a time long gone.
    Remember! Remember!
The light warms his heart, the pain’s washed away
Daylight, brightness, he stands tall again,
    Ready, ready.
When giving up seems easy, just think of all your friends
If you have none, make one. Just smile, say hello.
    Smile. Smile.
Memories, fading with worry and hatred, can be remembered
Brought back by sunlight and a want to survive.
    Endure. Endure.

  2. Tristan says:

    TREES
    Nature’s brooding conductors
    stand motionless
    with their arms outstretched,
    upholding the final note
    in poignant silence
    before taking their bows.

  5. Russell says:

    I set your revolutions
    into measured slots,
    and well in advance
    I assign upcoming events
    according to my benefit.
    Time, I am your master.

    but still you tease me
    with your deceitful abundance

  6. Volkam says:

    Breath fills his nostrils
    Scent of rain
    Overhead thunder thrills
As a hesitant voice of pain

    His eyes widen
as lightning rends the smoky sky
    angry must be Poseidon
    nowhere is dry

    Poised is the stranger
who looks from atop the stony ledge
    his face lined with danger
    as he nears the edge

    hear the mighty ocean roar!
    Feel the wind howl!
    See the silver lightning soar!
    Entropy is on the prowl!

    His demeanor is placidly peaceful
As he grasps the hand of Lady Death
one step into freefall, his manner of control
    diving on empty breath

like an arrow, the ether he’ll pierce
that divides the earth and the sky
    the hopes and the fears
that lie within the human mind

    an immortal he be
    that realizes his eternal nature
who swims the currents of destiny
and lives till he reaches his full stature
