Tristan Higbee
You’re just a Big B.
Wolf in this town when you
Huff n’ Puff my rhymes to the ground

Prep the sponge
after boiling paper
until it’s transparent
Add the paint
close the lid to keep it wet
and usable for long past
when it should dry
what a nifty invention
if only the smell
when you open the box again
didn’t make you reel back
and gag

I am the slave driver,
forcing my creativity to work harder,
to labor against his will,
to plow deeper into the barren soil,
to turn a meager harvest into bounty.
