1/5/10: Messages

Yup. Messages.

Today’s classic poem isn’t a classic in the sense that it has been around for a while, but I absolutely love it.

  1. Tristan says:

    THE SAVED MESSAGE

    Disappearing into the
    fog, it helps me remember
    the adventures spent in your
    strange and beautiful country;

    It is the rickety bridge
that connects the two sides of
    our improbably wide gap;

    tangible testimony
    of two former believers.

  2. SBgiselle says:

    Messages are better
    When delivered in person
Sometimes “well said” in a letter
    Is SUPER in person.

    It’s harder to say things
When you say them in person
But it’s worth all the stressing
    To give it in person

A text message is hard to read
And can really easily offend a person
So talking becomes a great need
So you can tell how you feel in person

Messages are fine, and so is the phone
But talking should be done in person
If he had been polite, if he had only known
We would be together, best of friends, in person.

  3. SBgiselle says:

    Some friends
    Can’t take
    the hints
    I send
    That say
    BAD DAY!!!
    DON’T TALK!!
    LEAVE ME
    A-LONE
    SILL-Y!
    :)

  4. Russell says:

    He sent messages
    through the air
    silent messages
    winks, whispers
    but obviously
    he put down
    the wrong addresses
    because she
    didn’t get any
    that he sent

  5. Keelin says:

His fingers traced into living canvas
    images of eternity
but the figures continued to fade

  6. Sorgie says:

    The tilt of the head
    Change in tone
    a significant look
    sudden interruption
    turn of the body
    twitch of the hands
    and other gestures
    shifting weight
    exaggerated coughing

She still didn’t get the message
