leaving me
to assume
when I can’t see
silently
you’re lying.
and a part of us
is dying.

The lie
of the slot machine
is promised felicity.
I see
nothing felicitous
about losing money.

I told my heart a lie
When i told it i didn’t love,
Because every single song
Reminds me gently of
The way you walk,
The way you sing,
The way you act when sad.
I realize now, i love you
And I really wish I had
Laughed for you,
Cried for you,
Wished for you to be
The one I always think of,
The one who thinks of me.
