As I sleep, my day
passes through a prism.
This strange triangular object
breaks down and distorts,
turning the invisible light of day
into a rainbow of extraordinary,
abstract colors.
“A dream is a wish your heart makes,”
I dreamed of a man that I could not see.
He was always right there in my fantasy.
And he seemed the only one who loved me.
“When you’re fast asleep.”
HIs face was a blur, for my mind could not picture
The handsome visage of this mystery mister.
The curiosity made me blister.
“In dreams your will lose your heartache,”
At night, sleep came slowly, like honey.
I wanted the sweet dreams that were often quite funny
Sometimes I waited until it was sunny.
“Whatever you wish for, you keep.”
He was taller than me, with a sweet sort of air
But I could never quite tell the shade of his hair.
Though somehow i knew that we’d make a great pair.
“Have faith in your dreams,”
What if I met him, by chance or by fate.
For that day i know i just can’t wait.
Our meeting I’ll always anticipate.
“And someday, you’re rainbow will come smiling through.”
I’ve dreamed of our meeting a thousand times more.
Sometimes he seems close, like I’ve met him before.
So I try hard to see him in my dreams while i snore.
No matter how my heart is grieving,
In the day, I see couples together in the hall.
It makes me remember I have no man at all.
Every good one is taken till my options are small.
If I keep on believing,
I promise not to give up, when my day is grey
Because i know he’s out there but before that day
I’ll fling open my arms and decidedly say,
The dreams that I wish will come true.

that’s on the bomb in my dream

I have been captured by skeleton pirates on the high seas.
I have been maid marian walking under sherwood’s trees.
Once I was in a burning building with no ability to scream.
I have seen magic witches and had crumpits with the queen.
Circuses and snakes in paper sacks.
Deaths of loved ones or scenes too beautiful to call back.
Never forgotten, but never remembered with perfect clarity.
Are the dreams that come, when I sleep, with regularity.
