a brand new year arrives this day
and brings “a fresh start” some will say
but if you think outside the box
you will find another thought
for each new morning of each new day
offers a chance to change your ways
and every second of the ticking clock
shows that we can start and stop
if only we will seize the day
we can choose to light the way
to better days and weeks and years
and better people will appear
are you still waiting for a new year
to see a better you now appear?
you need not wait ’cause time still flies
and you can change if you only try.
